Switching From Fresha to Klippa: A Migration Guide
The Klippa Team · 26 May 2026 · 6 min read
Switching salon software feels daunting — your client list, your bookings, your livelihood all live in there. In practice, moving from Fresha to Klippa is straightforward if you do it in order. Here's a practical, low-stress migration plan.
For an honest feature-by-feature look first, see our Klippa vs Fresha comparison; this guide assumes you've decided to make the move.
1. Export your data from Fresha
Start by exporting your client list from Fresha — names, phone numbers, email addresses and any notes or history you can include. Export to CSV, which is the universal format for moving client data between systems. Keep this file safe; it's the backbone of your migration.
2. Set up your Klippa account in parallel
Create your Klippa account and build out the essentials before you switch over: your business profile, services and pricing, staff members and their working hours. Doing this while you're still running on Fresha means there's no gap in service.
3. Import your clients
Use Klippa's free CSV import to bring your client list across, mapping the columns from your Fresha export. If anything looks off, our support team can assist with the migration — you don't have to do it alone. Once imported, spot-check a handful of clients to confirm history and contact details came through correctly.
4. Set up booking, payments and reminders
Connect your branded booking page or embed the widget on your website, set up payments through Stripe, and switch on automated SMS and email reminders. Configure deposits and your cancellation policy on the services that need them.
5. Pick a switch-over date and tell your clients
Choose a quiet day to go live. Update the booking link in your Instagram bio, Google Business Profile and website, and let regulars know your new booking page. Because clients book through your own branded page, the change is seamless from their side.
6. Run a short overlap, then close Fresha
Keep both systems available for a week or two so any appointments booked before the switch are honoured. Once the last of those have passed and everything's flowing through Klippa, you can close out Fresha.
What to expect after switching
The biggest day-to-day changes most salons notice: a predictable flat monthly bill in Australian dollars instead of variable fees, a client list that's unambiguously yours, and — if you add AnswR — calls answered even when you're with a client. Give yourself a fortnight to settle in, and lean on Australian-based support if you hit a snag.
